Launch in Kuching, Sarawak

This is our first launch out of Peninsula Malaysia and the first in Sarawak. Boulevard came on board as our retail partner and was very enthusiastic in supporting us in this.

There were a lot of VIPs and senior management that attended the event on 1 May 2010 as it was also launched in conjunction with AmBank's Regional Family Day in Sarawak.

Launch in Penang

Yes indeed we were still fueled up from our first launch in Sentul, we've decided to launch in Penang, North of Malaysia on 22 December 2009.

Everyone in Penang was very cooperative and passionate about this programme. The hardwork and effort which all volunteers put in to make this launch a success was worthwhile. Our partner here, Giant Hypermarket was definitely committed in supporting us...hence they provided us with the stage, backdrop, audio system, and worked till late to set up the place!

No doubt I'll give everyone who participated in the Penang launch a thumbs up for the effort they put in.

Our very first launch in Sentul

Despite the space constrain we had to cater for 100 people, we managed to end the day with happy smiles which marked the start of our programme!

The partnership of both companies officially started with the launch of this Programme in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur on 4 November 2009. Our retail partner in this selected area is Ong Tai Kim Supermarket. VIPs present were Tan Sri Azman Hashim, Chairman AmBank Group, Mr Ngau Boon Keat, Chairman, MyKasih Foundation and Dialog Group and Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin, Director, MyKasih Foundation.

"This project also gives us the opportunity to participate in an innovative social and community service activity which will give maximum reach and impact to the needy. The needy will be the main beneficiaries without any intermediaries. Hence, they get to enjoy the contributions directly," said Tan Sri Azman.

He continued, "Should this programme gains traction, we plan to replicate and introduce it in our regional network where our branches are located nationwide."

Indeed we did!

A Journey to Awareness, to Action and to Hope

Since civilization, people have been helping each other out, looking after those in need. But for all the attempts to make it a fair place, the world is a long way from that. Most people feel a need to respond to those in need, to behave as friends to those in despair and to offer kindness because they put their heart into helping the needy . Why is that?
Sometimes it takes more than financial aid to make a difference. Together, AmBank Group and MyKasih Foundation work hand in hand towards helping those in desperate circumstances.

The mission of this Programme is to provide:

  • Funds for basic food aid.
  • Guidance and support to the socially/economically backward women by showing a way  for livelihood. This will give them a life of self-respect, thus improving their quality of life.
  • A path for their children to break out of the cycle of poverty and enable them to be better individuals of tomorrow.
